The munchkins and I went on one of our favorite hikes yesterday.
It was a journey fraught with peril.
There were flying towels…
And giant bugs…
And steep drop-offs into the ferocious river below.
Eventually, we made it to the hot pots.
Joshua and his friend took a quick break in the lower springs…
…before joining the rest of us in the kiddie pool.
Joshua developed a nasty case of sulfur-head…
…while I went nose-to-nose with my favorite crocodile.
Bizzie decided the big pool was too stinky,
…so she moved into her own, private hot pot.
It was almost perfect.
But Jakob decided that it needed a little bit of construction work.
Eventually, it was time to make the return trip down the mountain.
It had been a fabulous day.
“Climb the mountains and get their good tidings. Nature’s peace will flow into you as sunshine flows into trees. The winds will blow their own freshness into you, and the storms their energy, while cares will drop away from you like the leaves of Autumn.” John Muir
